sacral affirmationWhy is this Chakra Important?

This chakra is important because it is the main chakra that governs our attitudes in sexuality and creativity. Our sexuality is the fundamental basis that we often base many of our relationships on, how we interact with other people, and how we view ourselves. Sex from this chakra is all about the merging together with another polarity and the release.

“Stimulation of the Second Chakra is the common form of stimulation in our society. They say everything sells if you just add sex, so we see sexy bodies draped across cars, walking in shoes and voraciously consuming every item of food. It is not that all the shoes and the cars and the food give you good sex. It is that seeing a sexual objec provides stimulation, reminds you to have passions, asks you to have feelings, and tries to engage you with the deep subconscious tides of your own passions”. – Yogi Bhajan, Pg 190, From the Aquarian Teacher Level One Instructor Textbook

It is all about our desires and passions, about our creativity and our feelings. This chakra lets us step into the water spirit of inspiration and creation.

People who operate in a strong positive way in this chakra are connected to their feelings and will move at the speed of the feelings that they have despite outside pressures. They will view the world as a means of fulfilling desires and passions. This person has opinions and preferences.

The person who has a strong sacral chakra is usually viewed as flirtatious because when one speaks from the sacral chakra their language is flowery, seductive, sensual, beautiful. No matter what is being spoken of it is flirty.

A person who has a weak sacral chakra will often find themselves devoid of passions, little motivation and the world seems to loose colour. They will lack opinions and preferences. A person with an over functioning Sacral Chakra will find that everything is sexual no matter what, and easily crosses over boundaries. No matter what they are talking about it is sexual.

This is the chakra that prepares the way for the compassion of the heart chakra.

In class we discussed how this is the center that our culture, Western Culture in the US and Canada tend to operate out of. This is also the chakra that many people use to pick up another under the guise of coming from the heart when its not. Interesting things to think about!

This is also the chakra that I focused on the most in my healing of Herpes journey which you can read about here!
