Vancouver Update

MY Vancouver Awesome

I picked up these pins for free when I was floating around Granville Street one day. I fell in love with them. One of my friends makes fun of me because I say “Weird” so often. I sent him this photo.

This past week and a bit I was floating around in Vancouver proper. I finally had the art show I had spent months preparing for last weekend and it was amazing!

This whole trip to Vancouver has been a consistent affirmation of who I am (an artist) and that I have talent I could exploit and use beyond what I’ve been doing. This whole trip has shown me the inherent talent and the way my life could go over time.

MY Vancouver Art

My art set up on the Vancouver Art Gallery Steps.

I’ve been blessed to see the many opportunities available to me as an artist if I were living in or near Vancouver and realized a lot of what it takes to be a successful artist is self promotion. Get your work seen everywhere and anywhere. Not everyone is going to like or buy your art but that is how you get to the people who will.

And there are people who will.

MY Vancouver Trip

Hanging out in Stanley Park. I miss the forest on the Coast!

It’s given me a lot of inspiration to keep moving forward with my art work and my personal self study. I am aiming to find more of a balance though now that the art show is over between writing and painting.

Another thing I realized is that as an artist it seems I need to have a lot of pieces of work done if I am going to being to shows and heavily promoting my work. I need to have prints of different kinds and price ranges and different canvas sizes. It will all come in time, however, those are things I’m looking into as I evolve.

MY Vancouver Wig

I’m a wig lover and went wig shopping. This is my favourite and though I didn’t end up purchasing it (out of my budget) I hope to in the future. I love it!

This trip has also brought me a lot of clarity on life path choices. While I will never foreseeable stop painting for any reason or exploring with creating crystal based oils, I have decided on education I wish to pursue in order to elevate my income and have a back up career for any time my income might be lax.

MY Vancouver Night Life

A photo of the stadium I took on a walk.

Next year, this August or September, I am going to enroll in Gemmology! I’m so stoked! I want do Gemmology and Jewellery Design so we will see how that goes. I estimate it will take about two years to complete, after which I may or may not go to school for graphic design. We will see what happens in that time frame! 🙂

This trip has been huge for me. It has filled me with inspiration and gratitude, love and peace all at the same time.

MY Vancouver Dance Ready

Here I am prepped for my dance performance. I shopped on the Drive and put together this epic outfit with the help of my friend Juniper. The only thing missing is the wig..
